Update: seems like the mark wasn't permanent, no scratch .. all gone now (very light pressure with moist cotton ball). Now I'm having trouble drying the water that's on the surface of the mirror. The water leaves behind a residue ... reading the mirror cleaning article, I realise I don't have any distilled water (would have been good for me to read that before proceeding but I panic when something is wrong and try to fix it straight away )

Guess I'll head to the servo right now and grab some distilled water, unless someone has a better idea?
