Combining multiple focus shift images for high close up depth of field macro

Hi All,

I got hold of some new software that allows me to combined shallow depth of field images to form one high depth of field image. This is particularly useful for depth of field in macro photos where dof is hard achieve. Check the insect example on the attached link...

http://www.heliconsoft.com/heliconfocus.html

What I've done below is to take a mobile phone circuit board, lay it on a 45 degree angle so it extended up around 10cm and took about 10 shots at F2.8 using a 100mm macro gradually hisfting the focus downward. The Helicon software automatically selects and combines the focussed bits from each image and combines to form the result here.

cheers,

Rob
