Looking forward to meeting up with you all as well.
Already spoken to the travel consultant (wife) and have penciled in the 29th or 30th for the stayover but all I will have is my camera and a pair of Vivitar 20X50 binoculars, I can see Jupiter and 2 or 3 moons with them from the backyard and at $39 from the Toowoomba Ag Show hey not too bad.
Dark skies are OK here from my backyard until next door turns on yard spotlights to see what I am doing and the spotlights at the bowling green directly opposite my location and one solitary low wattage streetlight outside my house. I generally wait until neighbor goes to bed thankfully fairly early at 8-9pm, spotlights at bowling green are only on at night on Friday/Sat nights.
Have been offered a dark site to view from on a friends property about 25K north of Roma. I have been there without gear and it is very dark can only just make out the end of my nose on a moonless night.
