Wink Woohoo!!! Astrodons are here

Not bad, in terms of shipping time. Only took about 5 business days from Adirondack to my door. That's better than many items which come via Oz Post, shipped domestically!

Anyway, I'm stoked to have them safely here and hoping I'll get some nice conditions in the next few days to report back with my findings.

Here are some pics, after I quickly installed them in the Atik EFW.

I noticed in the label on the front cover of the plastic case an interesting comment (see pic).

First of all, these are LRsGB and not LRGB, which is what I placed an order for.

And there's that cryptic line about "NEW! Deeper Red Filter".

I'm sure it's nothing...but it's a variation on my order which I wasn't expecting. Perhaps a bonus? I'm hoping it doesn't mean a change in the perfromance charcteristics of the red filter. I wonder what the 's' in LRsGB stands for? I believe it refers to a colour being 'synthetic'...and when refered to like this would normally mean a synthetic Green...but it appears coupled to the Red channel with the labelling on the filter case.

And would it suggest a difference in light throughput and thus efficiency in the Red channel??

Anyway, maybe someone can put me 'in the picture' as to whether this is a positive or not when it comes to using these filters for planetary imaging, which is what I ordered them for and was very clear in my correspondence with Adirondack.

Exciting nonetheless, and I'll find out shortly how they perform.
