I've run the image through Photoshop to increase the star brightness and colour. I used a PS plun-in called star rounder to round the brighter stars slightly and then I just adjusted the levels to neutralise the background gradient colour.
I'm extremely pleased with the reprocessed version as it has brought out some really nice stars colours, for example Gacrux.
