I'll join you there - astronomy is such a large part of my life, especially since I have paid work in it that the line between work/hobby gets very blurred.

My other main hobby is native plants. Western Australia has a great abundance of species and I've long been keen to have the skills to identify them easily and to grow them. I've been steadily working on both and my amateur skills in the former have helped me in my other line of work. There is so much to learn about WA natives that it will probably keep my interested for the rest of my life. I might just discover something that no one else has found, either a new species or a new propagation technique, its an incentive that keeps me going on. There's a lot of beautiful stuff out there that no one knows how to grow!

I'm also a weather buff, and spend a lot of time watching the weather and hanging out on weather forums. I'd love to go storm chasing one day (I think its more time than money that's holding me back at the moment.)
