I tackled Lee on this, and he explained the cessation of email as an option by saying that he was spending so long each day helping out people and answering questions about all manner of things - when much of the time the people didn't go on to buy from him. So he decided to get rid of email, and the time wasters, and concentrate his efforts on those that buy from him.
It makes some sort of sense I suppose, but I still think email is essential these days. If you have his email address he will reply, except he only reads his messages at home after work, so don't expect a fast reply !
I know people have great things to say about his service, but frankly, I've tried to buy from him three separate times, and each time he's needed to get back to me with some information - which he didn't go on to provide so I just buy elsewhere.
