Yep, I had a visit to Canada one winter. So cold the snow/ice was solid and so slippery in my relatively smooth-soled boots. Came down a few times!

And the most amazing things - my breath would freeze in my moustache creating all these little spikes on my top lip - very funny feeling and not very comfortable.

Dunedin is just a stones throw and a bit to your SE.

I tried walking to a local pub in Waterloo, Quebec once in -10 with wind
chill of -25, they have ground and windchill tempts there. In an couple
of pairs of jeans and couple or so sloppy joes and whatever else I could
throw on. Dont try taken a pee on the way home lol. No bull it was literally
turning to ice before it hit the ground. And you think frost bit on ya earlobes
or nose is bad lol
