Checking the BoM site and looking at the national radar plot, that storm (off the south coast) has a heap of circulation in it an looks intense.
Damaging winds are expected to develop overnight, most likely after 3AM, between Newcastle and Coffs Harbour with average speeds of over 65 km/h and peak gusts in excess of 100km/h. Winds should ease during Saturday.
I've battened down the hatches as it will be a wild woolly night.
