I did a coarse GradientXTerminator filter on your image to see how it dealt with the excess reds on bottom half of pic. Here's the result alongside your posting to see effect. Hope you don't mind .... just something to do .... I'm a bit bored.
You could also pull the red levels down in the red channel to get a similar result if you don't have GXT.
