This may be very a silly thing to suggest, but sometimes my HEQ5 will stop tracking in RA. I think it is a bug with 3.21 version of the software. Is it possible that your new mount is ceasing to track and the guiding is trying to do both but failing? When mine stops (very rarely) I need to go into setup -> Tracking -> then turn RA tracking back on.
Just thought I'd mention this in case it helps, but I'm sure you would have noticed.
