Is your 8" newt on an EQ mount?

You could look to investing in a 4x or 5x barlow/powermate to get more image scale.

You could use curves to increase the contrast in post processing to get a little more detail.

Mike, I have the 8" on an heq5. I am cutting my teeth on a 2.5 powermate before I attempt the 5x. Sometimes its best to start up the shallow end of the pool.

I have reworked the original pic with curves, rgb balance and contrast.

I think it looks a bit better that the first cut.
