I was up there last week as well
Got back from Birdsville on Thursday Morning after five weeks on the road through Queensland and the Gulf and Darwin,Mt Isa and back to the Sunshine coast
Great trip
took my 20cm scope but in most places we camped the trees got in the way, when there was no trees there was lots of Moon
