There'd definitely be catfish, eel tail and fork tail.
We used to live a bit further up the river and when it was in flood we'd setup on a causeway and throw a line in baited with a bit of worm, and bring in fish after fish after fish. They'd be literally jumping out of the water to try to get the hook first. After you run out of bait, you could still nab them with just a plain hook.
Great fun!
I think it was the Eel Tail catfish that we used to keep to eat.
