Not all that bad. I lucked into a sale day to vault myself into the hobby, I wandered into and ABC shop and spotted a Celestron GT 4" marked down 70%!! $1400 down to $400.00 (although that seems the going rate in the classifieds here) Next came the 10" Dob, @ $550.00, Meade EP set also @ $550.00, about $300.00 worth filters, magazines and charts, $30.00 on a good compass, $0.00 on Stellarium, and finally about $110.00 on a 3x Barlow. My lovely wife spotted some 10x30 Binos at the OP shop and brought them home for me. Just under 2K, and seeing things I didnt know existed. Heaps better value than a new flat telly, I'd rather the kids come out and watch the wonders in the sky than Big Brother. It's a good and healthy hobby!
