There's 12000-15000 identifiable pieces of space junk and still working satellites orbiting the Earth, and god knows how many more lurking about we haven't even seen. You know why the scientists say we haven't been visited by ET yet....well there's your reason why. Earth orbit is a safety hazard!!!!
