Thanks Andrew, I bought a heavy duty monpod from the states, but I've been bitterly dissapointed with it. Maybe I'm not using it right, but I find I can't really hold noticeably steadier with it and it really get's in the way with composing my shots and reduces my flexibility of movement without much if any gain.
I took a cheap light-weight aluminium tripod with me today and a camera bean bag and found thesevastly superior.
