I find that sometimes 1 asprin tablet can relax you enough to get you to sleep. Avoid anything stronger - sleeping pills or caffeine etc.
If you can't sleep don't stress about it - it only makes it worse. Just keep yourself busy till you feel tired.
If insomnia is a serious problem suggest cognitive behavoural therapy from a registered psychologist.
