I agree Mike I try not to use noise reduction on our images and the 40D handles it well. Just that I probably cropped the galaxy too heavily and decided to try noise reduction to improve it but haven't succeeded very well. I'll give the galaxy another try

Alex we have had 25mm rain in the past two days so considering we have had a very dry 6 months we're happy that at last we have rain on the cloudy days (and nights) Forecast .. fining up next week. Fingers crossed
