Thanks Dennis, it was mixed over-cast but with bits of sun here and there so no fill flash used for these... I did use flash for a couple taken under the arbour, but wasn't very happy with those. At the moment I prefer to muck about with aperture first, then ISO to deal with light before I turn to flash, but with experience I'll probbaly make more use of it and it's clearly desirable in some cases.
