"Whilst visiting Bled, in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, I took this shot inside a delightful café called Slaščičarna Šmon. It was a bit of a cloudy, rainy, and gloomy day; this little place was the perfect spot to be in. Looking out the window, I could see St. Martin's church through the haze whilst sipping on that delicious cappuccino. Which brings me to the subject of the image: the cake. Oh, the cake. Bled's pastry speciality is the cream cake you see here. It is called kremna snežna rezina; a layer of vanilla custard (unlike any vanilla custard I've ever tasted) topped with whipped cream and sandwiched between two layers of pastry. Delicious."
