Thanks for your comments. The observatory is the best astronomy item I've ever got. As they say the best telescope is the one you use. The whole thing is automated except the shutter. when I want to do some astronomy I go out and open the shutter, take the caps off the telescopes. Turn the power on and go back inside. From My Observatory control room (spare bedroom) i can aline and focus the telescope and away I go. They do cost though, $3.5k for base model, I think I've spent about $8K on mine. As for waiting I only waited only 3-4 weeks. the 2.3 size is fine for me but if your going to do visual as well and have people over then the next size up would be better.
