I'm sure if people check out what is said in here and then talked to retailers (sounding like they know what they are talking about) they would probably not get ripped off.
If they can only afford a 60mm refractor at least we can help them with the lingo and model names and find a dealer that will sell them a good 60mm refractor at the right price.
There has been many instances in this forum where we have helped people on very tight budgets to get some reasonable starting gear.
Then again, we also try rip Tony off too!
