Peter, I wonder if this might be of any help...
I'm using Linux, and saved the image on your website (carina_mosaic.jpg) and then opened it in the Gimp.
The Gimp put up a dialog with this question:
"The image 'carina_mosaic.jpg' has an embedded color profile: "Wide Gamut RGB". Should I convert this image to the RGB working space sRGB ?"
No matter whether I answer "yes" or "no" to the question I get a very red image.
Don't know what's going on really, maybe something went wrong when you were saving it with the embedded color profile?
