Yeah Baz, the eq6 was too big to be hulking around so permanent setup had to come ( always was the plan, just the doing takes time ). No permanent pier at this location though I want to be able to move the observatory in the future !

Hi Houghy, I'm more likely to bump the 1.2metre scope. When I'm imaging I sit at my computer so it's not a problem, besides I don't intend to live here ( light pollution capital of W.A ) for ever. There is the option of the SW piers for around $300 which I may look into. The curtain works well as I said. I was doing some imageing last night and the rest of the observatory, including the scope, was dripping with dew by the time I finished around 4am but my little computer area was dry as a bone.

p.s.
Has that 127mm triplet Apo arrived yet ?
