i believe the "'expert'" (i put your facetious quotes in quotes
) you refer to is Tim Flannery .. he might have some idea of what he is talking about. a lot of big name scientists think we might really be in the poo.
whether this is a good (or necessary) plan i dont know - but survival of the species > amateur astronomy viewing conditions
