finding Boattini

Hi All,

I realised straight away after I purchased the 12" Lightbridge Dobby that I didn't have a hope of finding most objects effortlessly, so I made the Lightbridge a software guided scope (see signature). TheSky6 automatically downloads the comets ephemeris and I can usually get objects within 1 degree or 1 wide angle eyepiece FOV. Then its just a matter of a little hunting around. I can usually find faint fuzzies within a couple of minutes.

I couldn't see Boattini in the finderscope, but with a bit of averted vision and tapping the scope it revealed itself thru the eyepiece. So under city lights and without GOTO or a SGT scope at this stage it will be pretty hard to find unless your are good at star hopping!

Lets hope it brightens to mag 5

Neil
