I've had a go at it. I found it works best with a wide FOV. When I have the camera in my DOB it fails to recognise a lot of images, but when the camera is in my 80mm or the 4.5" reflector, it performs a lot better.
I also notice that it does not pass guide pulses to the scope from phd. Those ASCOM required methods for pulse guiding don't exist in the driver.
Guiding appears to work if you are using MaxIm dl to guide but not with phd so there is a software furfy in there some place. This means you need to guide via a seperate interface.
EQMOD on the otherhand does most of what maxpoint does plus it passes guide pulses and it's free. However it also has problems, but that's another story/
