measuring the Universe - good book

Just finished reading a good book. Ever wondered exactly how "they" know how far it is to the nearest star, cluster, nebula, galaxy, Quasar, edge of the universe !!! it is? Well this book will tell you in an easy to read (no maths) way. The complete history of human kinds attempts to measure the known universe. Starting about three hundred BCE through to the turn of this centure (ie 2000).
