Still shouldn't need the EOS utility Rob. Use a Card Reader to get them onto your machine (which is a better way to download them rather than direct to the laptop MOO ) and then IP can read the CR2 files directly.

Have you considered you may have a corrupted disk with your EOS utility on it. You are quite welcome to borrow my disk to load what you need. Apart from the drivers I'd imaging the rest is pretty much the same.
