DSI 2 photo of moon - what am I doing wrong?

Tried to take photos of the moon last night with my DSI2. This is the best I could come up with. It is a single image (no darks) at a short exposure of <0.1 second.

What I would like to know is am I doing something wrong and are my expectations too high? When I look through the eyepiece, the image is bright and crisp (except for fluctuations in the atmosphere etc). When I take a shot, it appears blurry and dull. Is this because I am doing something wrong, or is this the way it is? Should I be trying to stack images? With the atmosphere fluctuations, I guess this would be difficult. Would I get better photos with a DSLR?

Hope someone can help me

Matt
