Thanks Alan - yes, the Tarantula image is taken with Chris' (33South's) modded 350D. The 16x300s includes dark frames because I used ICNR for darks.

Hi David, yes I am happy with it, thanks. It's amazing what dark skies and a modded camera can do. It's a single frame - not a mosaic. I'd certainly like to do a mosaic of this area one day.

Yep Michael, that's right Except the camera in that photo is mine - whereas this image was taken with Chris' (black) 350D.

The LMC in the field presented some difficulties for composition, didn't know where to place the Tarantula to get as much interesting surroundings as possible
