Eta Carinae

Here is my third attempt at NGC 3372 and I hope that I have made somewhat of an improvement, no matter how little or small. I have learnt not to get frustrated with imaging on a Alt-Az mount. I learning to live with elongated stars.

I was out until pretty late and was fighting the urge to not image Jupiter. It was a nice quiet dewey night (except for the party over the fence). The seeing held steady for most of the night.

After Eta Carinae I had to try and capture one of my favourite objects, the Sombrero Galaxy. I will post the results when I finish processing.

I decided to pack it in when field rotation was becoming to big of an obstacle to dismiss.

Taken with my Celestron 8SE SCT with a f/6.3 focal reducer and Canon 450D. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS CS3.

Eta Carinae = 14 x 30 second subs with ICNR darks.

Thanks for looking.
