Hi Gary

I don't know if this of any help or not as I am not familiar with the AP400 mount, some autoguiders these days, Q-Guider, Orion the one sold by Gama have a direct connection to an ST-4 compatable port on your mount, as I said, I don't know if your mount has one of these. My Gemini and Digital Drive controllers do, I just plug the guide cable straight in and specify in PHD that the mount is controlled by the camera, I can run Star Atlas Pro while PHD is up and running, to date, I have had no problems running DSLRFocus, Star Atlas Pro and PHD all together.

Another way, once again, if you have an ST-4 compatable port, is to use a GPUSB and cable from Shoestring Astronomy, use a spare USB port and specify in PHD that you are using a GPUSB, I have tried this with both of my mounts and it works fine, once again with the 3 above programs running.

Cheers
