thanks for all your comments, my color balance has been a bit dodgy recently, i ran this one past tamtarn for an opinion before posting it and adjusted it slightly to suit, i had to use the eyedropper tool in photoshop as the numbers are much more accurate than my old eyes.
Gary h we took about 420 pics while away ibought a 4 gig chip for the camera.... i should have bought 2 chips
ideally i would like a new camera..... like 5 mins after he sold it i saw erics modded 40d for sale
never mind maybee someone wants to sell a q8
