We were 24 hours too early!!
I took the scope out later on Saturday night and the seeing was so poor that I only had a quick look around then packed up. BUT last night I went out to Astrorock at Woodford with some other observers, you can nearly see the whole sky and it was spectacular. The seeing was so sharp and the views were great. I just cruized for most of the night and now am paying the price when I try to do some serious thinking for work
Didn't find Tempel 1 though
but after Dave's comment about it being nearly an averted vision thing I don't feel so bad.
We have to try again!!
