A new view of the Ghost of Jupiter, in visible and infra red.

Here is a rare view of the ghost of jupiter planetary nebula. Id imaged it before using the UHCS filter and 2x barlow to get the highest resolution image I can, but it looked rather monochrome as the neb filter only allowed green o3 light through. So last night I did an imaging run with an infre red PASS filter, only allowing IR light through, cis. light including HA and o3, was blocked. I replaced the red channel with the IR image after upscaling and aligning it to fit. So what you see here is essentially O3, H beta, and broadband IR light. As the IR filter is broadband and allows a fairly wide IR band though, the stars appear more stongly in the IR image (as they are hot objects anyway), thus in the final image they appear red. They are all but non existant on the UHCS filtered vis. light image. The outer halo is much lower in IR light then the inner part, hence the inner part appears more white, the outer still mostly green. The central star, like other stars mas mostly blocked by the UHCS filter but allowed through by the IR filter, so is also red.
When I ordered my 350D from Hutech, I chose the clear AR coated glass option, as I knew that one day Id want to dabble in infra red imaging. For times I dont want the IR light I screw in my 2 inch IDAS UV/IR filter
