The nice thing about supplying power for a device like this is it is fairly flexible in voltage demands, as the two cell Li-Ion battery will provide between 6.0 and 8.4V depending where it is on the discharge curve. Provide clean DC power anywhere in that range at a couple amps, and you are set. I'd probably include an inline fuse in there to limit damage in a short circuit situation, though.
