On a complete impulse we just purchased a Nexstar 6SE. Put it out in the back garden and used the Star Align thing to start it up. Well first of all something is wrong as when we asked it to find Beatlejuse (i know thats not the right spelling), it went in the complete opposite direction and pointed in a completely wrong part of the sky. When we asked it to find Saturn it pointed the wrong way etc etc. Any ideas why this might be?
My other question is, when I look through the viewer I expected I would at least see things a bit better than just a little dot. I visited the observatory the other night and viewed the Orion Nebula, Id hoped that with this telescope I would see something fairly similar to that which we viewed at the observatory? Should we be doing something to the telescope in order to see things more clearly?
We are of course complete novices!!
