1280x1024 here, just got a new LCD monitor only 17 inch but 1280x1024 is the native resolution, hence sharpest picture. My short focus isn't brilliant but that resolution I find best. I could always increase the screen font size if it was too small. I'm just starting to build a personal web site so my page sizes reflect my own settings but I intend to set up some scripting to detect screen sizes and present alternate size pages for browsers at lower resolutions.
