hi Norm, yes, the truss pole locking system operates very well indeed. The surprising thing is that it is one of the three methods recommended by Dave Krieg in his book about how to make a dobsonian telescope. Admittedly, making the truss pole seats requires a lathe but the resulting pole locking is outstanding and I cannot understand why everyone else doesn't use that same design! In my dob I have also designed a secondary mirror holder that can be accurately adjusted by hand (without any tools) even when wearing a thick winter glove! This design makes collimation very very easy. I believe the design to be unique. I haven't seen it copied yet. Regards, Doug
