Thanks for the tip. I should have been clearer in my write up!
With all my Canon lenses, well, both of them, LOL, the focus confirm works fine and I can select all focus points or cycle through them.
Its only when I fit the Canon 40D to my telescopes that I lose this capability, although the Pentax retains it.
However, Remote Live View more than compensates for this minor inconvenience.
