Thank you Stuart, Barb & Dave and Scott for those nice comments – I was somewhat deflated when I took this image set as I had just failed miserably on M83! But, when I saw the centre of Omega loom up on the screen my mood was instantly transformed to one of elation! But, at 3:30am there was no one around to share it with!
Scott, the Mewlon 180 is indeed a fine ‘scope, but I am still struggling to come to terms with its special requirements.
For my SBIG ST7 and CFW8A I had to order a special Tak adapter ($100 US!
) to ensure the correct distance between chip and primary mirror and for the Canon 40D, I’m sure there is another adapter but I haven’t hunted it down yet, nor approached my incredibly understanding wife, to ask for another $100 US to spend on a piece of metal with a T thread and a 54mm thread!
However, please don’t get me wrong – I am not complaining, it is a stunning instrument on doubles and clusters.
