Hi was keen to test the modded camera on these objects last night and compare to the D70 I have. For some reason every time I go for the Flame and Horsehead I always seem to have a series of misadventures through the night and last night was no exception. Was having troubles again with the camera communication through Images plus, diagnosed the problem after noticing the camera was setting the shutter speed from bulb to 1 sec when going through the preliminary focusing routine, I had to manually set to bulb . Then after that was sorted out while dialing in the polar scope a cloud formation mysteriously appeared from nowhere smack bang at the SCP region Waited awhile finished that and turned the scope to the Orion environs and the cloud followed When the cloud finally disappeared the wind picked up from a pleasant breeze to something that that could knock the scope over Anyway I managed to get only 5x220s frames so the final image is noisy and dodgy but pleased with the amount of detail picked up compared to the other unmodded camera and managing to keep my humour in trying weather anomalies, cats using my observing space as thoroughfare, neighbours who leave the porch lights on and one angry wife telling me off for being out so late

Stats

Guider Vixen FL-102@ ST-4
