Hi Guys,
I'm just back from a brief 3 week hols - first two to Norfolk Island (1600kms east of Sydney), followed by a week in Sydney. I was
really looking forward to seeing the night sky from a dark location, as a change from the usual light polluted view here in Perth.
I even went to the trouble of investing in a lightweight pair of Olympus 10x50 binos to take with me. but talk about luck - bad luck that is ! - when we got there, they were preparing for that hurricane that passed by a fortnight or so ago now. But I did get one night of clear skies before the heavens opened - and wow ! what a sight it was.

There was so much more to see than from my regular viewing location, and I was left wishing I'd been able to take a scope. You guys who live in dark sky locations are so lucky
Well, that one night was it for clear skies, and clouds came and stayed for pretty much the whole remainder of the hols.
And then there was Sydney ---that rained the whole week
Oh well, - there's always next year
Cheers
