Hi Guys,
Well last night i decided to have an other go at the Rosette Nebula, and to cut along story short all went well, with the guiding, focus, and all that stuff, and the set-up was humming along quite nicely.
I intended to take 15 exposures at 6mins, and rather than stand there for 3 hours decided that i would take my lights without ICNR and take the darks later, this would cut my time at the scope in half.
However what a mistake, although the temp for the darks and the lights were the same, at 11 degrees, I have never seen such noisy images, they were nearly grey with noise, as were the lights, the combined image was a shocker
Usually there is a little noise because of the higher temp, but this I have never seen before.
The ICNR always works fine, so the motto is I suppose, don't take short cuts, and stick to what works for me.
Anyway if some one has a suggestion that may shed some light on the subject, why this happened please help.
