Beginners M42

Hi all,

Now that I think that I have everything OK to go equipment wise (I am sure there will be more purchases coming up – there always is something……) but had a bit of a playaround Sunday night.

Anyhow, attached is a beginners version of M42. Imaged with the Canon 400D through the ED80 and guided with the C8 (DMK 21 and PHD Guiding – great combination). A total of 8 frames all at ISO800 (with incamera subtraction) – 1x10sec, 1x30sec, 1x60sec, 1x90sec, 2x120sec, 1x150sec and 1x180sec.

In regards to image processing, I attempted to process in Photoshop (flying blind) and stacked utilising Deep Sky Stacker.

In summary, very happy the way all the equipment is running, but boy, do I need spend a lot of time understanding post photo processing.

Cheers,

Daniel
