I guess we can decide when we look at the weather forecast - sometime around Thursday afternoon.

Current forecast is for a sunny Friday with partly cloudy at night, 17 deg C min, winds light at 9 k/h.
The Melway reference is all that you need - Map 124, K11 "Johns Hill Reserve". If coming from Belgrave and turning left at the corner of School Road (124 E11, coming in on the right), don't go up Jacksons Hill Road - it is narrow, steepish and unsealed. Bear left up Grantulla Road, then turn right into Ridge Road at E8. Then it's a short drive along the ridge to the Reserve.
The road becomes unsealed soon after the entry (on the right) into the small carpark. It may be just as easy to park on the side of the road - I probably will since I think I have to tow a trailer with the 12". There are some picnic tables close to the carpark. You can easily set up on the bitumen carpark or on the grass of the park.

Plan your targets for N, E and S. West will be fairly well lit by Melbourne skyglow.
ps. As I recall, no toilets at the reserve.
