Talking G Star viewing: Hydrus galaxies

Hello all,

I took this early this morning with the GStar on full sense up (intergated frames in camera for 2.56 seconds then delivered "live" to a monitor). Light pollution is heavy, sky seeing was fair and transparency was good.

The two galaxies in Hydrus are pgc 3740 is mag 16.2 while pgc 229031 is 17.8. These names and mag estimates are from Sky Tools 2.2. A faint galaxy is not seen which lies very close to the star of mag 10.94 (TYC 09355 0661 1).

The star on the lower margin of the picture slightly left of centre is GSC 09 355 - 1269, mag 16.01.

This image is compared with a section from the DSS.
