yes true satchmo, but was mostly restricted to arty educated classes back then?, ie aristocracy, gentry, upper middle classes, merchant classes lord byron, shelley ect. - wasnt there a whole country of hippies - bohemia :p altho the peasants actually looked and lived like hippies - too busy grinding their dirt gruel and starving to be free thinkers?
